Preparation

  • Make up cards to remember with
  • Easy - 6 dots of different colours (group 2 x 3)
  • Medium - 8 dots of different colours (2 x 4)
  • Challenging - 12 different dot colours (3 x 4)
  • Get
  • Coloured plastic balls
  • Plastic cups - to hold the balls in position
  • Tongs to carry the balls (could also use a serving spoon)

Set up

  • Set up the cups on a table in two rows of three (2 x 3)
  • Place the card face-down (unseen)
  • Have a bag or box of coloured balls about 3m away

Play the game

  • The cub gets to turn up the card and study it for 30 seconds
  • And turn the card face-down again.
  • Then they must run and fetch the coloured plastic balls with the tongs
  • And place the balls in the cups to match the sequence on the card.

Once they are finished - they can confirm the correctness by looking at the card.

Variations

  • Use coins (instead of coloured balls) on a 2 x 3 matrix or a 2 x 4 matrix
