The Scaffold hitch is used to temporarily attach a rope to a plank.

Tying

  • Wrap the rope over the scaffold plank so it crosses the top of the plank three times.
  • Pull the first loop (from the standing end) over the second loop
  • Pull the second loop over the 1st and 3rd loops and over the end of the plank.
  • Pull both ends of the rope to set the knot.
  • Complete the knot by attaching the working end to the standing part with a bowline.
