Scout Scarf Day takes place on the 1 August, to commemorate the very first Scout Camp on Brownsea Island in 1907. Active and former scouts wear their scout scarfs in public to make the "Spirit of Scouting" visible.

Once a Scout - Always a Scout! The scarf is a strong symbol for the scout promise and our mission to leave the world a better place than we found it.

Try and leave this world a little better than you found it,
and when your turn comes to die, you can die happy in feeling that at any rate,
you have not wasted your time but have done your best.
Robert Baden-Powell
