Simple stew

  • Tin of bully beef
  • 5ml mixed herbs
  • 2 or 3 onions, diced
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Curry powder
  • 1 or 2 chopped turnips
  • 2 or 3 chopped carrots
  • 1 potato per person, peeled and diced


  1. Place all the vegetables in the Dutch oven with the seasoning, and just cover with water.
  2. Cover with the lid, bring to boil and then let it simmer slowly until the vegetables are just tender.
  3. Ten minutes before the vegetables are ready, add the bully beef and allow the mixture to simmer and a gravy to form.

Note: Try to cut all the vegetables approximately the same size so that they take the same amount of time to cook
