1955: Started as a cub in a garage in Bezuidenhout Valley, Johannesburg (group became 1st Valley) and attained Leaping Wolf and Sixer status.

1958: Moved up to scouts at 1st Valley and attained Sprinbok Scout and Patrol Leader with Cub Instructor.

1964: Moved to Eastern District Senior Scouts at the 1st BK Scout Hall in Kensington, Johannesburg.

Along with Senior Scout Brian Ross opened a cub pack at the Mpiti Boarding House at Jeppe Preparatory School in Johannesburg.
