Sorting Game/Activity

Task 3: Learn the importance of water and what we can do to save it.

Time: 10 minutes

Equipment: Picture Cards and Drops, cut out, and laminated.

Keep it in an envelope (or a Ziplock bag) and store it in your Game/Activity Box.

Set up two Sorting Stations: Saving Water and Wasting Water.

Meerkats collect one picture at a time. You can give a brief description of each picture.

They decide whether the picture shows saving or wasting water and place it at the correct station.

If they sort it correctly, they receive a water drop. If incorrect, take the picture but do not give a drop.

Once all pictures are sorted, count the water drops to see how much water the Meerkats saved.

Review and discuss any incorrectly sorted pictures to explain why they belong in a different category.
