1st Vincent Scout Group
Beginning
In July 1991, the former 2nd Cambridge Scout Group changed its name to 1st Vincent. At that time, the Group Scouter was Heini Smidt, with Duncan Oelschig as Troop Scouter and Mrs DJ Hodgkinson as Pack Scouter.
Mrs Hodgkinson led the Cub Pack from 1991 until 2002, after which Ms Leigh-ann Kretzmann took over. She served for 17 years until her retirement in 2019. That year, Mrs Sharon du Plessis became Akela, a position she still holds today alongside her role as Regional Team Co-ordinator: Cub Programme for the Eastern Cape South Region. She is supported by Assistant Pack Scouters Mrs Annelma Bishop and Mrs Debbie Downing. Under their leadership, the Pack earned the Gold Star Award in both 2023 and 2024, and since 2019 has celebrated 13 Cubs achieving their Leaping Wolf badge.
In 2024, Mrs DJ Hodgkinson received her 50 Year Bar Long Service Award.

The Scout Troop, active in the early years, became inactive for a time but was successfully revived in April 2024 under Mr Craig du Plessis. The newly reintroduced Troop began with nine Scouts, seven of whom had already earned their Leaping Wolf Badge. Craig du Plessis also serves as District Commissioner for the Cape Border District and is assisted by Mrs Debbie Downing and Mrs Sharon du Plessis as Assistant Troop Scouters.
The 1st Vincent Scout Group forms part of the Cape Border District, which falls under the Eastern Cape South Region.
