Overview

The Cape Border District is part of the Eastern Cape South Region of Scouts South Africa. Located in the Eastern Cape province, the district serves a wide geographical area, offering Scouting programs to children and young adults between the ages of 5 and 18. The district fosters the development of leadership, life skills, and outdoor knowledge in its members through a wide variety of adventurous activities and Scouting experiences.

Location & Demographics

Cape Border District includes several communities across East London and the surrounding areas. Its membership consists of children, teenagers, and adults who participate in Scouting activities at various levels, from the youngest Meerkats to older Scouts and Rovers. The district encompasses a diverse range of Scouting groups, each providing a safe and inclusive environment for youth development.

Structure & Leadership

The Cape Border District falls under the leadership of a District Commissioner, who oversees the Scouting groups within the district. The District Commissioner is responsible for supporting the Scouters (adult volunteers) and ensuring that all programs align with the values and objectives of Scouts South Africa. The district also has a council comprising senior Scouters and representatives from the various groups, who meet regularly to discuss and implement district-wide initiatives.

Programs & Activities

The Cape Border District provides a full range of Scouting programs, including:
