Badge Requirements

Demonstrate your interest, practice, and proficiency in some form of one of the following:
1. Graphic Art - Sketches, painting, etching, woodcuts, linocuts, etc.
2. Decorative Art - Wallpaper design, printed or woven fabrics, posters, book jackets, wrought-iron etc.
3. Collages - Grasses, shells, leaves, dried flowers, appliqué, paper, stones etc.
4. Calligraphy - Roman, Gill Sans, Script, etc. In no case is the work to be a copy or tracing but must be entirely by your own hand.
Carry out to the satisfaction of the examiner a piece of work in your chosen art form, as set by the examiner.
Demonstrate a knowledge of:
1. Any necessary preparation of media and materials.
2. Opportunities for further study of art.
3. Masters which you have seen or books that you have studied, and your opinions of them.

Safe From Harm: Whilst completing the requirements for this badge, Scouts must not be placed in hazardous or dangerous situations under any circumstances. All activities must comply with SCOUTS South Africa Safe from Harm framework and be supervised by responsible adults. Participation should offer meaningful learning or service experiences while ensuring the Scout's safety and well-being at all times.
