The Docker's splice is sometimes known as the Marline Eye splice or the Tucked Eye splice.

It is a quick and easy method to produce a temporary eye in a rope.

Tying

  • Open the lay of the rope
  • Push the running end through the raised strand to make and eye
    • Adjust to the desired eye size.
  • Open the lay of the standing part of the rope.
  • Push the running end though. Be sure to have enough length on the running end.

Uses

  • Improvise a guyline for an A-Frame tent.
