Templates and infoboxes

Would you know how to create infobox that could be re-used for:

  • Scout group/troop pages
  • Scouting events (Kontiki/Cedeberg/SANJAMB/ WSJ)
  • Properties
  • Training courses

Kite.henley (talk) 14:05, 16 October 2018 (SAST)

I'm sure we can implement some templates for the above, and I see you've put some in your sandbox. I will first need to chat to National regarding Group pages, and training courses, as they may prefer that information to be on the National site, and the information is already in other places. A template for properties could work well. I suggest we work through the Scout programme and badges, and educational resources which has the greatest demand at the moment. Interest badges

Would you know how to fix the names of the Scout Interest badges - I've created a Scout Lifesaving badge...
For now I will stick to the Scoutcraft badges. Kite.henley (talk) 10:14, 18 October 2018 (SAST)

Kite.henley, please use [[Name Scout Interest Badge]], e.g. Lifesaver Scout Interest Badge. If you do a refresh of Scout Interest Badges the new links should be up to date. I did this because when you are searching for a badge, typically the badge name comes to mind first rather than "Scout". I will move the Lifesaver badge page.

Image maps

Hi Ryan, Could you see what I am doing wrong with the image map of the left sleeve on this page Kite.henley/sandbox.left sleeve - Either there is a syntax problem or <imagemap> is not enabled for this wiki. Thanks --Kite.henley (talk) 02:22, 20 January 2019 (SAST)

:Kite.henley, I have enabled the extension, and now it works. I also needed to remove the commas in the coordinated and replace with spaces. --RyanHultzer (talk) 07:02, 20 January 2019 (SAST)
You're a scholar, a Scout & a gentleman. Thank you! --Kite.henley (talk) 10:50, 20 January 2019 (SAST)

Statistics page

Hi Ryan,
The Statisitics page is not working - any idea what the hiccup is? Wanted to update the Category:Work to be done:Work Already DoneItalic text table Kite.henley (talk) 12:59, 25 July 2019 (SAST)

Kite.henley, sorry, I'm not clear which page is not working, or what is showing? Is it Category:Work_to_be_done? --RyanHultzer (talk) 20:50, 25 July 2019 (SAST)
The Statisitics page has been stuck on 534 articles for the last week at least. i.e. it is not auto updating. Kite.henley (talk) 07:47, 26 July 2019 (SAST)
I've had a look, but failed to see what is causing the problem. I see it has increased its count by 1 after you created a page recently, but not after I created a page. --RyanHultzer (talk) 09:04, 1 August 2019 (SAST)

Home Page

Could we link the "Other Activities/Campfire" wikilink to Campfires (which is a more wholesome page) rather than the Category:Campfire which is less attractive. Thanks. Kite.henley (talk) 08:48, 5 April 2022 (SAST)

Patrol edits

Could you give me permission to patrol edits - the red exclamation marks in the RecentChanges are causing me to "twitch"! :) Kite.henley (talk) 11:30, 5 September 2022 (SAST)

Kite.henley, You are aready in the 'Wiki Experts' group which has 'patrol' access: "Mark others' edits as patrolled (patrol)", so I am surprised if you cannot already mark things as patrolled. --RyanHultzer (talk) 15:47, 5 September 2022 (SAST)
Ryan - I can see how to mark things as patrolled by clicking on the diff on Special:RecentChanges or clicking "Mark this file version as patrolled" from Special:NewFiles , but I can't see a link to mark a new page as patrolled from Special:NewPages. ScoutWeb (talk) 16:06, 5 September 2022 (SAST)
I have the same issue, even if I log in with the SysOp account. I'm not sure what could be causing that link to go missing... --RyanHultzer (talk) 17:02, 5 September 2022 (SAST)
