West Country whipping

This is the easiest form of whipping, and is often decorative.

1. Tie a thumb knot a few centimetres from the end of the rope using thin, strong twine.
2. Then tie another thumb knot at the back of the rope, and continue tying thumb knots on each side of the rope to within about a centimetre from the end.
3. Finish off with a Reef Knot, and trim with a sharp knife.
