Western Cape Senior Cub Camp

From SCOUTS South Africa Wiki

The Western Cape Senior Cub Camp is a camp for 10 year old Cubs run by the Western Cape Region since 2016 at Hawequas with a theme loosely based on the "Survivor" reality TV series. It was inspired by a 2015 Link Badge camp for the Helderberg District, held at Kogelberg Farm Hostel near Elgin.

2016-2021: Simon Grantham and Valeska Gruenbaum established the camp by adapting their District Link Badge camp and adding a "Survivor" theme. The camp ran annually in March. In 2021, it was replaced with a one-day Outdoorsman Badge course due to Covid-19 lockdown.

2022-present: Fraser Hewson and Ian Webb took over running the camp in 2022. In 2022 and 2023 it ran with 72 cubs, and in 2024 the camp began running as a slightly smaller event twice a year, for 48 cubs, once in March or April and once in October.
