Age Limit: This badge is for Senior Cubs aged ten and a half and older.
Badge Examiner Requirement: The responsibility for assisting the Cubs with their transition is shared between the Pack and Troop Scouters, with some of the training provided by the Cub's future Patrol Leader. This will enable the Cub to get to know the Patrol Leader and the Troop Scouter and provide the Cub with a sense of familiarity and security, so they feel more comfortable when joining the Scout Troop.
Preparing for the Transition: The Pack Scouter should initiate the transition process by contacting the Troop Scouter before the Cub turns eleven. They should also begin preparing the Cub for the Link Badge by discussing the requirements together. The document Link Badge - Adventure Guide for Cubs provides helpful guidance for Pack Scouters to explain the Link Badge requirements and support the Cub on their journey from Pack to Troop.
