World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM)
The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) is the international Scouting organisation to which SCOUTS South Africa belongs. WOSM was founded in 1922 and currently boasts a membership of over 50 million people from 170 National Organisations.

World Scout Conference
The World Scout Conference (WSC) is the governing body of WOSM. The WSC meets every three years and is formed by 6 delegates from each of the 170 member Scouting organisations (or a federation if a country has more than one recognised national organisation).
The purpose of the WSC general assemblies is to agree on cooperative strategies to coordinate the international goals of the Movement.
World Scout Committee
The World Scout Committee is an executive committee of elected volunteers chosen by the World Scout Conference. The World Scout Committee historically meets in Geneva, Switzerland and is responsible for the implementation of the resolutions decided on by the World Scout Conference.
World Scout Bureau
The World Scout Bureau (WSB) is the permanent secretariat based in Geneva that is responsible for carrying out the instructions of the World Scout Committee. The WSB is largely responsible for the provision of support at a regional level and takes on an organisational role in global events, such as World Scout Jamborees.
Regions
WOSM, through the World Scout Bureau, is divided into six operational regions, each with their own regional offices and administration teams:
Africa Region
The Africa Region is composed of 40 national organisations belonging to Sub-Saharan African Countries. The Region currently boasts at least 1 million members and is headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya.
Scouting in Africa began in 1908, and on 13 March 1963, this contribution to Scouting was recognised by the African Union, declaring 13 March Africa Scout Day.

Arab Region
The Arab Region is comprised of 18 member nations from North Africa and the Middle East. It is headquartered in Cairo, Egypt.

Asia-Pacific Region
The Asia-Pacific Region 30 million members spanning 27 countries and is currently headquartered in Makati City, The Philippines.

Eurasian Region
The Eurasian Region is made of 12 Scouting organisations of Eastern Europe and Northern Asia that were former members of the Soviet Union. It is currently headquartered in Kyiv, Ukraine.

European Region
The European Region is composed of 41 national Scouting organisations, primarily those of the European Union, but also Turkey, Scandinavia and others. The European Region is based in Geneva, Switzerland and currently boast a membership of about 1.4 million.

Interamerican Region
The Interamerican Region is made up of all recognised national Scouting organisations of North and South America. It is currently headquartered in Ciudad del Saber, Panama.
