Gold Wolf - First Aid: Show how to remove a splinter
- It is quite easy to remove a thorn or splinter with a good pair of tweezers.
- But if the whole thorn or splinter is buried under the skin, you should not try to remove it. Never dig around in the wound with a needle or tweezers. Let the adult decide what to do.
- When you have pulled out the splinter or thorn with the tweezers, wash the wound with ordinary soap and water. Never apply ointments or antiseptics.
- A clean dressing such as an adhesive plaster, should be used to cover the wound.
