The Lifesaver Scout Interest Badge also requires the Scout to "have passed the Swimming Scoutcraft Badge or complete all the requirements for it", so should it also be listed with the Swimmer Scout Interest Badge as an equivalent interest badge? --Leo (talk) 20:12, 27 May 2023 (SAST)

Hi Leo, I don't think the wiki contributors will be able to answer these, but perhaps you can contact Theo Rijs (National Commissioner for Scout Programme) via HQ to ask about errors and how to propose changes? ScoutWeb (talk) 08:20, 29 May 2023 (SAST)
Hi Leo,
The Scoutcraft badges are as-it-were "introduction to a scouting skill", and were originally the core skills that a decent scout should have - imo if a scout has completed all Scoutcraft badges that is a pretty awesome scout. As the scouting syllabus has evolved newer badges have been created outside of this concept (Dancing, Sports fan, Heritage).
When the scout earns the Interest version of the badge-pair, they remove the Scoutcraft version and wear only the Interest Badge.(Just re-read the Uniform Policy document - and this is not clearly ststed in the policy - although this is the practice. Wearing a Scoutcraft AND the relevant Interest badge is a uniform faux pas
To answer your question - this is not the case with the Lifesaver Scout Interest Badge - which is a specific skill apart from swimming, although it needs swimming as a prerequisite skill.
