Gold Wolf - First Aid: Show how to treat burns and scalds

  • A minor burn or scald could be on the fingertip or a very small burn on the body. The skin usually gets red and is painful. (Sunburn is also classed as minor burn).
  • Gently place the burn area in cold water, or under a running tap, for about ten minutes.
  • Never apply ointment or antiseptics.
  • Do not try to break blisters.
  • If cold water is not available, cover lightly with a clean, dry dressing.
  • Do not attempt to treat anyone who has been badly burned but do cool the burns down with cold water and call for help.
