Badge Requirements

- Present evidence that you have successfully pursued one of the following crafts for:
- Not less than 12 months, and
- Produce four appropriate articles made by yourself.
Crafts include basketry, wire-modelling, woodcarving, spinning and weaving, bead work, mat making, soap- stone carving, pottery or other craft approved by the examiner.
- Discuss your work with the examiner with particular reference to:
- The tools and raw materials necessary to execute the work.
- Sources of information which could be consulted.
- The possibility of marketing completed articles.
- Future career possibilities in the specific craft.

Safe From Harm

Whilst completing the requirements for this badge, Scouts must not be placed in hazardous or dangerous situations under any circumstances.
All activities must comply with SCOUTS South Africa Safe from Harm framework and be supervised by responsible adults.
Participation should offer meaningful learning or service experiences while ensuring the Scout's safety and well-being at all times.
