Uniform badge placement
These charts show where badges should be placed on the Meerkat, Cub and Scout uniform.
Meerkats
Cubs
Meerkat badges worn on the Cub uniform
When a Meerkat burrows up to Cubs, they will not wear any Meerkat Programme badges they have earned, with the exception of the Burrowing Up badge and the Gold Star, which they may wear until they obtain their first Cub Advancement badge (Silver Wolf). These are worn above the left pocket in the same position as the Cub Advancement badges, with the Gold Star above the Burrowing Up badge.
Event badges
Event badges and some challenge badges go above the right pocket, in the 'Event Badge'/'Temporary Emblem' area:
- City Nature Challenge
- Cub National Challenge

Cub badges worn on the Scout uniform
When a Cub goes up to Scouts, they remove all Cub interest badges and Cub advancement badges they have earned, except for the Link badge and Leaping Wolf badge. The Link badge may be worn until the Traveller badge is obtained and is worn in the centre of the left sleeve, in the same place as the advancement badges will be worn. The Leaping Wolf badge may always be worn on a Scout uniform, as indicated on the diagrams
Event badges
Event badges and some challenge badges go above the right pocket, in the 'Event Badge'/'Temporary Emblem' area:
- City Nature Challenge
- Jamboree badges
- Kon-Tiki badges
LDC and PLTC
The LDC 1 badge is placed in the location of the PLTU badge in the picture below. When LDC 2 is earned, this replaces LCD 1, and PLTC replaces LDC 2. If PLTU is earned, this replaces any of the other badges.
Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Badges
- SDG badges are placed on the right sleeve with other Interest and Scoutcraft Badges.
