The Leadership Development courses were introduced in 2019 as part of the revised Scout Advancement Programme. It aims to teach leadership skills appropriate to the age group throughout the Scout Programme.
Leadership Development Course 1 (LDC1)
This course is aimed at junior scouts who have Membership level, aged 11 - 12. It is a one-day course which teaches the basics of the patrol system. It introduces Scouts to being a leader, as well as how to plan and run patrol meetings, activities and camps.
This is a requirement for the Traveller Advancement Level.
Leadership Development Course 2 (LDC2)
This course is aimed at junior scouts who have Membership level, aged 12,5 - 13,5. It is a one-day course which teaches the basics of the patrol system, how to instruct and basic leadership skills.
This is a requirement for the Discoverer Advancement Level.
